Production Assistant (Predatory Mite Breeder)

Zonda Beneficials is a New Zealand company that specialises in the development and sales of quality pest control and pollination solution products. These range from pheromone traps and predator mites though to self-contained bumblebee hives and are available to home gardeners and growers throughout the country. Zonda’s custom built production facilities are based at Gourmet Waiuku in South Auckland

We are currently on the lookout for a Production Assistant (Predatory mite breeder) within our greenhouse for our beneficial insect breeding programme.  The ideal candidate will be available to work 24 hours per week, 8am to 4.30pm Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Job Duties:
· Counting the minute mites under microscope
· Liaising with sales team to meet the orders placed by our clients
· Preparing sales order by mixing the mites in the bran or vermiculite medium
· Preparing new mite breeding medium
· Cleaning the room and maintaining required hygiene
· Record keeping

Key Skills Required:
· Ability to think thoroughly and attention to details
· Able to maintain high cleanliness level
· Able to work with microscope for long hours, training will be provided
· Good physical strength, as some tasks in the job require heavy lifting (up to 20 kg) and

Despatch Co-ordinator

Mangere, Auckland

Location: Gourmet Paprika (Based at Mangere, Auckland)    Type: Full time    Duration: Permanent

Who are we?
New Zealand Gourmet was born in 1982 as a family business and has developed into a well-established, proudly NZ owned and operated international horticultural operation. We take pride in our people, product and brand. The Warehouse Team is such an important part of the business, and the Despatch Coordinator is a key role within that team. They are responsible for assisting the Warehouse Manager with ensuring export and local market orders are accurate, and the tight deadlines required in fresh produce exporting are met.

What does the job involve?
The role is a mixture of administration coordination between the sales team and the warehouse team with hands on organisation of the preparation of produce to be despatched on the trucks for delivery. The main tasks will include:

• Liaising with Sales Team to ensure orders are correctly filled, packed, assembled, and despatched in a timely manner for exports to meet airline deadlines and sea freight schedules
• Filling out required paperwork for export and local despatches accurately
• Keeping the Sales Team informed on any situations which could impact customer orders being despatched
• Ensuring containers are sealed and where required temperature records installed within containers and set correctly
• Supervising a team of up to 30 employees to ensure high performance
• Ensuring team clock in and out to ensure accurate timekeeping information is provided for payroll purposes
• Responsible for ensuring staff store products correctly in line with required exports standards.

Building Maintenance Worker

Gourmet Paprika (Based at Gourmet Blueberries)

Location: Hastings, Hawkes Bay    Type: Full time    Duration: Permanent

The operations department at our large horticultural farm is responsible for buildings, vehicles, machinery, and all structures in-between. We’re looking for five Building Maintenance Workers to join the team who are willing to learn a wide range of skills to assist across the department.

Based at our Hastings site, you will be required to assist the Operations Manager with the day-to-day maintenance of our buildings, glass houses, crop supports and netting structures. You will also assist with building various types of grow structures.

Hours of work will be 7:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, with a guaranteed 30 hours work per week. Some weekend work will be required, depending on seasonal requirements.

Rates of pay will range from $23.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on skill and experience.

Duties will include:
* Loading and transporting building materials around the farm for construction and maintenance purposes
* Assisting with building, maintaining, and repairing netting and tunnel structures
* Assisting with the construction and dismantling of temporary structures
* Assisting with extracting and retracting netting
* Mixing and applying concrete, plaster, and other materials for new building projects
* Assisting in block development, including digging holes, excavating materials, and levelling soil
* Accurately maintaining machine log records
* Assisting with installing and replacing irrigation piping.

To be suitable for this role, you must:
* Be reliable, punctual, and friendly
* Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* Be able to perform in a team environment
* Show initiative
* Be physically fit and willing to work in all-weather

Previous experience in a similar role will be an advantage but is not essential as training will be provided.

This is a fulltime, permanent position.
