Local Market Sales Support

Mangere, Auckland

Location: Gourmet Paprika (Based at Mangere)    Type: Full time    Duration: Permanent

At Gourmet, we like to think we have a group of employees who are great at what they do and like working here.  You would be working at our head office in Mangere near the Auckland Airport. The site also houses our distribution centre and warehouse, this is an important logistical part of our business as most of our produce comes to the warehouse before it is delivered to our local or export markets.

We are looking for a Local Market Sales Support superstar, someone who can support the activities of the local market Sales Manager as well as the wider Sales and Marketing team.  In addition, you will maintain a regular presence at the wholesale markets and liaise between customers and internal teams to ensure timely and successful delivery of customer needs.  This role operates Tuesday to Saturday, with Saturday being a mandatory work day.

The successful candidate will be a natural relationship builder with a client focused approach, have a demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence at all levels, and understand digital marketing and website development.  You will need to be computer literate, highly organized, able to manage high workloads and have a strong attention to detail.

Main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Undertaking regular visits to the Auckland Wholesale markets
  • Visiting out of town Wholesale clients when required
  • Checking competitor products and updating Local Sales team on activity and market intel
  • Talking with key customers about current and future market trends
  • Attending to customer needs through a variety of communications which include electronic, verbal and attending face to face meetings
  • Attending and having an input into sales strategy meetings
  • Understanding price trends and ensuring our prices are in line or exceed market conditions based on supply conditions or quality
  • Understanding competitors pricing, quality and supply conditions by talking to sales staff at the markets
  • Bringing market intel back to Gourmet and assisting setting our price levels based on this intel
  • Providing local sales reports and other analytics as required

Recruitment Assistant

Gourmet Paprika (Based at Hastings)

Location: Hastings, Hawkes Bay    Type: Full time    Duration: Contract/Temp

Gourmet Blueberries is an expanding horticultural operation, with an office in Hastings. We are a part of the Gourmet Group of Companies and have sites in New Zealand, Australia, Japan, North and South America. In Hastings, we have a core group of employees year-round, that increases seasonally to over 1,000 employees per week. The office team provide support in a casual yet professional environment to keep the operation running smoothly.

As a Recruitment Coordinator, you’ll be assisting with a range of tasks so previous experience in an administration, payroll or human resources role is an required. It’d suit a HR graduate or office professional looking for a change.

A few specific responsibilities will include assisting with the planning and implementation of our seasonal recruitment processes, and end to end recruitment of new employees, including screening, setting up and holding interviews and completing pre-employment checks.

You’ll have the ability to work autonomously, with skills to organise, multi-task and prioritise. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in data entry is essential. You’ll also demonstrate excellent computer skills, be willing to assist anyone that walks through the door and radiate a positive energy.

We’re looking for you if you’re logical in your approach to work, have an eagle eye for detail and ensuring it’s accurate, eager to learn and you really are relentless proving your passion providing top notch service.

We are a small team based near the Auckland Airport. This is a busy and rewarding role which will suit someone who enjoys pace and variety, is adaptable in the face of changing priorities, appreciates the need to understand and work within set processes and systems.  With strong communication and relationship building skills, you’ll be able to work productively across the organisation and build positive working relationships.
